Interesting, it's somewhat surprising that he's the one saying this...I still don't get why Google chose to buy AppSheet. There were far better options available for them to buy.

In my opinion, it would have been better for Google to acquire FlutterFlow or something similar instead.

Being acquired by Google is a synonym of being extinguished. See Sparrow (email client).
It’s curious then that google still acquires companies. Surely someone has seen the writing on the wall and would decide to stop throwing good money after bad.

This is 100% expected. That's the cycle for companies. You get a golden goose, you elect a CEO that will put in place bureaucracy to keep anyone from cooking it.
