Ask HN: Time to learn SAP in this tech market?

Most startups and Silicon Valley firms are on hiring freeze and laying off . Job openings are plenty in non-tech companies most of them requiring SAP ABAP and SAP functional knowledge . How does one go about learning or falling into that ? Those jobs seem to pay pretty well ( without the RSUs)

When I was younger employers paid friends of me to get SAP certified and start working on SAP projects (as a side gig) even before they had their bachelor degree. And the pay was outrageous, they made twice as much per hour as me handling Linux servers.

If it's still like that and the job opening does not require a certification, you may apply with minimal prerequisites and still land an interview.
