I hate large phones, having gone through the progression over the 1990s to mid 2000s from the heavy, half-brick sized phones all the way down to the 100G 'chocolate-bars' that would fit comfortably in a shirt-pocket.
Today's monstrosities are off my list. But a Mini is no longer available on sale, unless I want to pick up a used phone from several years back. So I might as well stay with my 8-year-old 5S and be done with it.
Same, I want the minis with newer hardware. Hope they release a mini every 3-4 years - definitely want hardware upgrades and latest apps to work. Would signing a petition or something help?
I took off the mag-safe case on my 12 mini after a while yesterday. And it feels even more thinner and lighter.
Actually there isn't a decent Samsung or Motorola smartphone that is small and light.
That's not correct, Apple still sells the iPhone 13 mini which is only from last year, so no need to by a 'used phone from several years back', it will handle things very nicely.

Have you evaluated the iPhone SE, currently in its third incarnation?
