Well, no, it can't do jack. NATO also has the Global Hawk drone flying in the Black Sea, keeping tabs on Russian vessels and feeding intel to Ukraine. Pretty sure Russia would love to soot it down, which they have the capability to do, but shooting down NATO assets is not a good 4-D chess move for them at this point.
Haven't read much on tactics under modern artillery. So that was refreshing.

I found it interesting to read about the scenario where half a million trained Russian soldiers hit the front "soon", equipped with modern tech. Because my nurtured assumption here still is that equipment will be scarce and discipline will be bad.

In a hot war, propaganda goes stale fast. So we'll learn "soon".

Very sad state of affairs...I wonder how many russians would rather bomb the kremlin and be done with the war
Blatant and transparent Russian propaganda, if any of it was half true then why did the tide of the war change at least partially about western weapons started arriving?.

Western rocker artillery (HIMARS/M270) so much more accurate than the Russian gear that it literally changed the face of the war by itself.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to all the HIMARS? We were getting daily videos of their exploits, and then it started to slow down and now I can't recall the last time we saw one in action.
There was a video of them only 8 hours ago.

The biggest hit I can think of recently (without a video though) was about a week ago near Vuhledar

The Kyiv Independent?

Something tells me their reporting may be as trustworthy as Russia Today.

The story is all over the internet it was just the first source you didn’t need to pay to view.

But here’s the telegraph with the exact same story.

Cool, so it looks like they still have one left! It's been so long since one inflicted any damage after seeing multiple strikes per day.

By all accounts they still have all left, theres been no credible reports or evidence of a single one being destroyed.

And if they had it the Russians would post it _everywhere_.

Judging by how heavy our media propaganda is surrounding this war, I'm sure we wouldn't see it. All I hear about is how badly Russia is losing the war, even as Bakhmut is starting to fall now we hear how unimportant the stronghold really was. Coverage of this war would be silly if it wasn't so sad.

They would post it on pro Russian telegram channels and you would likely know about it if you followed the right now people. The fact that no such information is being posted even by pro Russian sources, means that it very likely just hasn't happened.

Depends on how you define losing really, expending all of those resources for a small city like Bakhmut might be silly.

Russian air defense is solid. Russia can shoot down HIMARS missiles. They've also moved their supply depots out of range.

Effective combat technology is always countered soon enough. The Ukraine has become a WWI type attrition grind because maneuver warfare is dangerous for both sides. Unfortunately for Ukraine , Russia has the artillery advantage, which is decisive in trench warfare.
