I wouldn't hold my breath. There isn't much phone software written in Rust, and the few things that are (eg. Polari) rely heavily on C for GUI resources. I like Rust but this seems like a bad area to focus on IMO.
I guess I'm coming from a place of being sick of two choices: Kotlin or Swift. And of course sick of just two app stores and no 3rd option. If there is going to be a new 3rd open appstore for a new 3rd type of phone what language should the apps be in? Isn't rust just the best new language ever?
