I thought this was the land of "caveat emptor"? It's unfortunate that you fell for this, but it isn't apologeticism to say that as long as there are suckers who fall for scams there will be scams. Sure, it sucks, but that's life.

First the tech world appropriated the word evangelist. Now it's apologetics. Get your own words and stop diluting Christian vocabulary.

My takeaway is that at every level, from Google to the site host to the payment processor, they are financially incentivized to do the Wrong Thing. And he hardly even mentions regulation or law enforcement; because fraud is legal, right?

It doesn't bode well for the future that all these companies are shitting where they eat. It looks a lot like the beginning of a systemic collapse.
