You havent tried a couple of grams of nicotinic acid on an empty stomach a day. It increases Growth Hormone which helps build muscle easily, USAF doctors prescribe it for bad backs (lumber/lower back) in their front line troops with NSAIDS. This doesnt work with Niacinamide, the non prostaglandin flush version of vit B3.
The GH will increase your neutrophil levels which are anti inflammatory but will deplete your omega3 levels in the body, increasing your desire for tea and other sources which increase dopamine levels. As omega3 levels deplete, your osteoclast levels will increase which will give you bone problems like osteomalacia or putty bones as I call it because you can literally push your bones in and they feel like putty and I dont mean the software called Putty!
Osteoclasts release calcium into the blood stream which amplify the stimulating catecholamines, so would be on "it" physically and mentally until you drop. The higher your Omega3 levels, the less osteoclasts are differentiated from bone marrow stem cells, and the presence of omega 3's make it a COX inhibitor of sorts because it ties up the cyclooxygenase, and manmade COX inhibitors are prescribed for things like arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in animals and humans, which is where the immune system is getting inside the bones and attacking them from the inside, further reducing the quality of your bone marrow and subsequent stem cell release.
To help protect against that, an increased intake of vit K2-MK4 can help maintain strong bones.
I wouldnt recommend nicotinic acid if you are going through puberty because it will increase the chances of getting acromegaly, aka that James Bond "Jaws"/Internet Chad look, you'll have increased height and more pronounced bone formation especially in the face, but little strength because your muscles lack the other chemicals to make decent hard strong quality muscle, like myostatin inhibitors. This is why food companies in the UK use niacinamide (vit b3) in fortified food, the UK food industry wants that soft feminine look in the population! GH also increases tumour risk despite being the first chemo drug used in the US in the 50's.
Exercise 1st thing in the morning is the most effective time to exercise, before eating or drinking anything which probably explains why the military use this during basic training to get people fit. Its the hormones that help us get fit and build muscle which wake us up every day. Going hungry also increase growth hormone so besides being angry when hungry, which is a good way to get motivated to exercise, the growth hormone will helps bones form better, which in animals like dogs helps reduce the incidence of hip dysplasia and the subsequent need for hip replacement's in post pup dogs, something the vets wont tell you!
Personally I would increase my omega 3 intake, studies have used up to 8g a day, algal oil (omega 3 from vat grown algae), over several months should deliver the weight loss results required, without trying to lose weight and they have an anti depressant effect as well, but it takes a long time (months) to get levels up in places like the brain or spinal fluid.
The algae is what the fish feed on, so by not having fish oil but algal oil, you get pure uncontaminated omega 3's without those fishy burps that comes with consuming fish oil.

Here I am thinking it was to prevent pellagra.
