Commenters on HN have a range of biases, which is what makes it an unusual forum. There are, sure, some ideologically left, and also some ideologically libertarian, and a smattering of other ideologies. I find that, as long as my comments are made constructively (rather than provocatively un-PC for the fun of it), I don't get flagged or downvoted much, so I'd say it's certainly not an intolerant forum.
Also, on a tangentially related note, I think the "woke" ideology crested about two years ago. That doesn't mean it's gone, but it peaked at about the time of the "defund the police" slogan, and (partly as a consequence) has been receding since then. Not to say it's gone by any means, but its power is in decline.
I think most here are sick of online political bickering and reducing everything to buzz words, which is why most such comments are ignored or downvoted. But maybe I am being an optimist and deluding myself into thinking there are places in the world largely free of ideological pissing matches.
