The dubious / likely disinfo thread [1] below was posted about First Republic getting taken over by the FDIC. It appears to be a disinfo campaign possibly related to short-selling FRB.

Just wanted to make sure we're not panicking - as that was my immediate reaction...

Also, if you search Twitter for BoA, etc. you'll find the same spam signature over all of them.

One problem is that the Blue checkmark on Twitter used to mean something. Now it can be used to weaponize fake info.

Yea, totally, and there's long been disinfo botfarms / sock puppets / dogpile gangs, etc. push scams...

Give it a year and people will have a negative connotation with seeing the blue checkmark.

I already have one. Seems like a Elon-simp signifier. I think the real ones are like bronze / silver or say "legacy blue check"
