At one time I was considering building my own NAS. I wanted the ability to access my NAS on my devices when away from home. I wasn’t thrilled about maintaining a DMZ and another machine to run OpenVPN. I came across Cloudflare Access/Zero Trust. I donnt fully understand what is meant by “Zero Trust”. What I learned is that with DNS magic services can be forwarded through your devices to Cloudflare, then Cloudflare has a daemon you can run on your servers that allows Cloudflare to act like a reverse proxy. At least that is what I understood. Is anyone else using this for home lab type setup? Also it seemed like this only worked with HTTP, so samba was out of the question, not a big deal as WebDAV exists.
