I'm in fact surprised that any such apps were allowed in the first place. Every time I see one of these articles I'm surprised for the exact same reason.
Mentioned this in another thread, but wow - at this point I'm not sure it's incompetence but just another thing they can throw at China/Russia/whoever it is this week, and see if it sticks.
You don't retroactively prevent people using random trash on government devices, you prevent anything being installed that isn't approved and vetted
I refuse to believe this is incompetence anymore, it's just so widespread and unfathomably dumb.
