The main reason I find this a little sad is because I just want to be able to play with the big boy toys. I don't really see why only the ultra powerful should have access to these things. And I don't see why we would believe that they're going to be more benevolent than everyone else. Those are the people who have an insatiable lust for power. Democratization of data and computing makes the world a better place.

It's nice having such morally flexible people in leadership positions. Next he announces a cooperation with boston dynamics on developing the first AI killing machine for the army, after receiving big wads of cash from the US gov.

sounds like someone just trying to keep technology to themselves, while making business out of selling "access" to it. "gatekeep and monetize" era of AI.
