It's been five months. What's the verdict so far?

Awful before, awful now. The delta doesn’t matter much.
Why? Choose accounts you're interested in, switch to the "Following" time line and it's (was?) actually pretty great.
Worse. He seemed to have driven a lot of people away to other platforms. These days it's not unusual for my timeline to have only a few new tweets per day.
The verdict was already in. 220M+ DAUs still sticking around after almost 6 months of Elon who also agree that it is much better with nothing else replacing it.

We have given it almost 6 months with the doomsayers incorrectly predicting its immediate collapse during the November outrage, mass layoffs, crypto collapse, thanksgiving, world cup, new years and now the collapse of the SVB pyramid scheme.

By now Twitter should have been as dead as Clubhouse. Mastodon should have overtaken it already. But unsurprisingly and as expected, even with a tiny spikes of users, none of that happened and they did not even stick around.

Perhaps Mastodon always has been a bunch of loud crickets at the back garden screaming over each other when the rest of the world ignores them and would rather stay on Twitter.

I've noticed a lot more hateful content being pumped out by the suggestion algorithm and based on other users' observations, my experience is not unique.
