the companies who can't fill their openings are places like Chipotle, McDs and Walmart
the places laying off are Google, Amazon, GM
really wish these talking heads would talk about SPECIFIC high quality jobs that can't be filled...don't pretend scrubbing a toilet at Burger King is a rung up the economic ladder for anyone
This exactly! Is the average person really unable to look beyond the plain numbers? Higher employment than during the pandemic? No kidding, we can all get part time jobs cleaning bathrooms at McDonald’s which were completely out of reach during the pandemic. Let’s all rejoice and applaud the FED! How reckless can they be with their policies and who is gaining from the disaster they are unwinding on the average person?
People focus a little too much on unemployment rates. Labor participation rate is still at 45 year lows. There is a lot of people are out there not working, but focusing on the unemployment rate wouldn't make you think that.
interesting choice of colors to designate problem areas. Customary to see poor results in red and good results in green, with yellow as cautionary. Here it is opposite.
One would think that the areas with the least ability to pay bills (or even earn decent wages) wouldn't vote politics over livelihood... I guess belief trumps reality.
Uh, the areas with the least difficulty paying the bills don't look politically all that different than those with the most difficulty. I'd guess this is more about rapidly-rising cost-of-living in urban areas and wage stagnation than national politics.
Which political party is helping working class Americans pay their bills?
I see my taxes going up and the benefit they provide me going down. The money machine and the national debt keep going brrrrr, so the inflation machine follows. Unchecked immigration is devaluing the labor of citizens and straining our government services. I see a two tier Justice system that is becoming increasingly politicized and the elites are seldom held accountable.
What are the Democrats doing to help me pay my bills? Higher taxes and runaway inflation fueled by overspending and excessive money printing is the opposite of helpful. It’s not just the Democrats by the way, it’s both parties over spending just on different priorities.
The stimulus and pay increases I’ve seen since the pandemic have been entirely erased by inflation and taxes.
If you think either party is helping the little guy you’re not paying attention.
Unless you’re heavily impacted by each party’s wedge issues, there’s little practical difference between team red vs. team blue for your average working class American.
What we need is a viable third party that advocates for our interests instead of those of the elites.
The last time I was actually looking forward to voting for my own interests was in 2016, but Debbie Wasserman Schultz conspired to rob me of that choice.
There are NO good choices, the Duopoly makes sure of that!
People are only trying to come here from because we've corrupted and destabilized their local governments in order to snatch their resources and impoverish them. If we weren't couping every other democratically elected government in South America there would be a lot fewer migrants.

Democrats per usual.
>I see my taxes going up and the benefit they provide me going down.
Anecdata. Maybe you’re not paying attention. Maybe you’re moving the goal posts. Maybe you’re right, but anecdotes don’t make an argument.

Gotta love all those tax breaks red presidents give the rich which everyone pays for.
>Unchecked immigration is devaluing the labor of citizens and straining our government services.
Got a citation that’s not from someone exaggerating and providing non literal commentary?

You must be new here.

You may think so, but you have your own biases as to what "voting for my interests" means. They don't agree with you.

We’re not a perfect country by any means, but we get a lot more right than people from other countries give us credit for.
