I think if we don't recognize we're already waist-deep in a cold civil war (not only in America, but in most of the global 'West') we are delusional.

The common thread linking all these hypocritical examples of condoning or opposing are that people are supportive of people companies and products they believe advance their worldview while working for the destruction of the ones that oppose them.

The question people should be asking themselves now is which 'side' will work out better for you and your family in the long run? Identity politics gaining in prominence makes this especially important.

Noteworthy: "makes sense" is a local variable, but consciousness makes it appear global.

There is a lot more detail here than you are noticing, and consciousness doesn't have a "dog that didn't bark" detection service.

Parler and Kiwifarms weren't outlawed by the US government.
All they had to was to bring in laws about data privacy. I guess they don't want to because it's making big money for advertisers.
National security vs. free speech.

National security wins. Game over.

You don't need TikTok to speak freely. If a platform violates US law (or adequately threatens domestic security) then it makes sense that our government would clap back as hard as it has.
