There's no massive team, no investors looking for growth at any cost, just me, running a sustainable business.
Similarly, there's no team of customer-support agents to get through - just me. Curious about onboarding? Find a bug? Email me, and I'll respond personally.
Goal is to get 8b people a career coach in their pocket, so they would never have to make a resume again.
Gotta pitch with an insane goal to get funding I guess.
You can have a startup that claims to be trying to save the world, but a closer look at their actual business model can reveal them to be more akin to middleman profiteers that don't actually provide any net negative to anybody, but are just good at extracting tax dollars or have connections to capitalize on some craze that will quickly vanish.
Basically, don't take flowery claims at face value, but use your own brain to figure out what their business model actually delivers for the world.
Don’t fall for the trap that some small scrappy startup whose founder promises great contributions to the world will do that.
That being said, most companies in general do most of those.
