It sucks for SBF, but keep in perspective the suffering and hardship he's caused lots of people by costing them their savings.
Just because a long sentence sucks doesn't mean we should forget what criminals did to deserve it and all the suffering they caused their victims.
In some cases you can argue that the punishment is out of whack, but we're talking about someone who embezzled billions (an incomprehensible amount of money to most people) in the pursuit of his own greed and enrichment.
That makes sense, though I still think that at 31 you still pretty much have most of your life ahead of you, so facing a lifetime of jail is a terrible personal tragedy, which is why I didn't pick up the implied sarcasm.
(But the personal tragedy is balanced against why the person is facing that lifetime in jail and all the victims who are suffering potential years/decades long harm.)
