I typically took a position of sideline outrage when seeing stuff like this, but then my friend went to Australia and I could no longer talk to him via Signal because of their government's troglodytic legislation. It's a shame we're continuing on this path of splinternets but I guess it was inevitable.
For context, Splinternet: “is a characterization of the Internet as splintering and dividing due to various factors, such as technology, commerce, politics, nationalism, religion, and divergent national interests.”
