Not sure what to believe but the PR battle is not won by Google on these AI tools right now, that's for sure.

Bard is crap. But even if it weren’t, we wouldn’t know. OpenAI has been the media darling for months now and Google can barely get a word in.
For good reasons, to be fair. OpenAI has pushed to production as an incredible rate so people had a blast with their prototypes and APIs. And many of us thought Google was waiting to push the red button with a fully-fledge amazing product. Doesn't seem to be the case.
They have time to make their solution even better. They are not rushing into the war without proper armor.
Google has a history of coming late to the party with doa products. Like Google+ to compete with Facebook, or Wave to reinvent email.

And they also buy up inventive companies and kill them. So?
