My 7 yo uses Kagi. One thing I would like is an option to turn off videos as the first search results.

Maybe hide them behind a link.

It may be for people like me and you able to achieve this ourselves:

* completely remove ads from web search

* block other kind of distractions

* move from one search engine to another depending on what we are searching

* play with the rest to privately search

but the above takes time and knowledge, at least.

Then, if you have a kid?

Depends on your use case and financials. I use it extensively for work as a computer scientist + developer, and have expensed it in the past. I initially found the free plan of ~30 searches / month pretty good for a 'sudo search', when Google and others weren't quite cutting it and I felt that there could be better results.
