The body of the OP, since it was deleted:

Just thought I’d share. Been suffering from severe ADHD & OCD for most of my life. It got to the point where I’d self harm, shop or do other negative obsessive things for a dopamine hit. I use an app to track how long it’s been since I last did anything bad and as I’ve been on this med it’s becoming less and less. So beyond weight loss it’s seriously correcting a neurological imbalance in my system.

Or massive weight loss can have a positive effect on one’s mental health, news at 11.
May be as simple as that, but here's a review of such effects that presents more evidence:

I’m open to the possibility. But I’ll say with respect to the OP post that there were a couple of red flags: self-harm “for the dopamine hit” and the ADHD + OCD combo.

Nobody self harms for a dopamine hit. There are a billion other things you can do for that. Self harm is indicative of deeper issues like depression.

ADHD and OCD people have difficulty achieving things they want to do. Unwanted weight gain is something a lot of ADHD people deal with, and it can feel like personal failure to not be able to get it under control. I’m speaking from personal experience here.

To see the pounds rapidly melt away would give such a high. Even if you know it’s just the drug at work, the more primitive part of your brain sees you finally achieving what you’ve been striving for years to do.

That could easily be enough to pull you out of whatever dark place was causing you to self-harm.
