I recently stumbled on The Tanenbaum-Torvalds Debate of 1992 (https://www.oreilly.com/openbook/opensources/book/appa.html) and it was a pretty interesting read.

Was wondering if HNers had their personal favorites of such discussions (any time period works; Usenet, Google Groups, HN, Reddit, anything).
