These cheaper HP laptops are not that bad. For 3 years I've had the HP Envy x360 which was about 1.5x the list price of this one and it has done absolutely everything I've ever needed.
My biggest concern with a cheap laptop is reliability.
My experience has been horrible --- hinges break, the battery won't hold a charge, the keyboard becomes glitchy. Nothing more irritating than when some keys require more force to register then others.
As an alternative, I've switched to using a tablet with a cheap, foldable Bluetooth keyboard. Low cost, no moving parts except the external keyboard which is easily replaced if needed.
