According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_aircraft regional airliner. While even for A320 it needs 2kWh/kg. So a long time to go for electric jumbo jets.

I am surprised we are this close to regional airliner. I would have thought any useful electric plane is not feasible yet. Maybe electric regional airliners will inject enough capital to increase the range gradually.

Over on Youtube, Electric Viking is suggesting these would yield 1000km range in EV's (600 miles), which is obviously the larger market than small planes. However questions remain as to charge cycles, safety, and pricing.
