They will. They'll lease to someone not on welfare.
The need for shelter trumps for your desire for profit.
Agreed, which is why we need to let developers build freely. They'll build and build and build until property is completely commoditized and anyone can afford it
Or they’ll sit on banks of land, trickling out properties at a lower rate than demand so they can continue to sell at high prices.
And you think making it less attractive to offer shelter will help with that?
This is a basic protection, and much more is needed to help people stay in their homes.
Congrats on perpetuating homelessness by disincentivizing renting to tenants on government aid.
This will only drive rent prices up as landlords have to take on more risk.
