Brit here, I always found how the state lines and even roads are organised in the US intriguing. Here it is a random set of roads and city boundaries but American ones seem to have been designed from scratch.

I was confused by these longitudes (which a quick check puts the state somewhere over the Atlantic), but these are using the Washington Meridian. The correct longitude boundaries in usual coordinates are 102°03'W and 109°03'W.
