What does it say about your technology if you need a certification to be competent in it? Simplicity and ease of use are no longer its USP?
But more importantly, are software certifications making a comeback? There was a time when we had certifications for everything from MVC to Spring to Scrum until the industry learnt better and started deriding them. It's not uncommon to treat certification as a negative signal during hiring, because it's usually used to fill in for a lack of real world experience. I hope we are not seeing the cycle shift again.
