Show HN: Ngrams – A search engine for the Google Books Ngram Dataset v3 (ngrams.dev)

NGRAMS is a search engine and REST API for quick inquiries into the Google Books Ngram Dataset v3 — the largest publicly available source of ngram data. The service is intended for all kinds of applications related to language processing, research, teaching, and modeling. It can be used free of charge, for both commercial and non-commercial purposes.

I built this service as an alternative to Google Books Ngram Viewer. Advantages are a wildcard query language that returns an entire result set, not only the first top 10 matches as with Ngram Viewer, and an API that serves JSON data for third-party integration.

NGRAMS was in the works for the last few years after v3 of the Google Books Ngram Dataset came out in 2020. Before I built https://phrasefinder.io for the v2 dataset.
