A couple of quotes:

I think this comes down to the question of trust that is discussed here a lot. The author misses the fact that in some countries there is still a high trust in governments, journalism, academia, and other knowledge-producing institutions.

But this I can agree with:

"Civil society needs to stop cozying up to Big Tech and taking huge amounts of its money. This too has resulted in capture and the faltering of proper watchdog roles."
