Ask HN: Is the remote work tide receding?
It seems these are becoming more true:
- startups are definitely more likely to be remote first but I’m seeing more and more where the core team is in office and ancillary teams are remote in more mature (mid cycle+) startups
- Hybrid is way more popular with s typical 2 days a week cadence
- Pure 100% return to office is not that common compared to hybrid but it’s trending steady
- most of the bigger established companies are receding their remote hiring practices. Some that are growing have seemingly and explicitly stopped offering remote opportunities often in favor of hybrid work
I surveyed openings on LinkedIn, direct company job boards (e.g. their career pages) and across job boards
I don’t know however if the is the general representation that others are seeing as well, so I ask HN, is the remote work tide receding in favor of Hybrid or RTO?
