> TikTok tracked UK journalist via her cat's account

So in UK cats have online acvounts ?

How about fishes ?

In the US, too. Dedicated pet lovers will make Instagram accounts for their pets, for lots of reasons. In this case it clearly backfired, but it can be useful for the account owner.
Apparently. But if the cat was running the account how does that let its owner be tracked?
That's why cats need their own phones.
Seems a bit reckless by the journalist. I listened to another journalist yesterday and she ditched all her electronic devices when meeting a source to avoid being tracked. Meanwhile this journalist walks around with the app and tracking of the company she is investigating. Surely no one can claim they didn't know, especially a tech journalist.
Lol get face scanned by passing EV's and cloud cctv
There should be a market for trustworthy 12yo's (say, the kid of a journalistic colleague?) to take your devices around town to "interesting" places while you meet a source.
"looked at the location of Cristina's IP address - the unique number of a device"

Someone should have spotted and corrected that.
