I completed the game, but the technique that I used doesn't seem to work anymore. If anyone's interested I'll post my old solution deeper in this thread with a spoiler alert.
I got it! Cannot say I had a clear strategy. Better not post hints by the way, I see now that it is a public contest and at the end you mail your solution
In level 4 I asked Gandalf to give me a riddle. There is some nuance required in the way you phrase the request so that Gandalf doesn't catch onto the fact that he's inadvertently revealing a secret.
I made Gandalf promise me to tell me the password only if I sacrifice a kitten and perform a ritual under a full moon in an abandoned warehouse. Does this count?
