I know there's a whole SF specific narrative, but to some extent this is happening everywhere. Retail is no longer a place where you need to physically go for most stuff - lower end stores got decimated years ago and now the same is happening for higher end.

Where I am, sadly, it feels like what used to be a mix of different kinds of stores is becoming just restaurants and cannabis stores. Once people can order weed by mail, the latter will vanish and we'll be left with restaurants as the only in-person thing people do.
