> A Western official told CNN that the UK has received assurances from the Ukrainian government that these missiles will be used only within Ukrainian sovereign territory and not inside Russia.
It's quite well established that the US has been putting safeguards in the systems it sends to Ukraine to prevent even the possibility of them being used against Russian territory, for fear of potential escalation. I wonder if other powers sending support to Ukraine are taking the same precautions. I also wonder if a cruise missile from a NATO country were to strike deep into Russia if it would really matter which country supplied it. While I doubt Russia is in any position to expand the war, anything that can be spun to support the narrative that they are defending against NATO could help them with domestic recruitment and getting more useful aid from countries like China.
