Ask HN: How do you measure the real quality of undergrad education in CS major?

I have heard that most college rankings are not real. They depend upon a huge number of factors where undergrad education has the least weightage.

So how do you know which college offers the best undergrad education for some major?

Since this is HN let us take the example of CS major.

Depends on what you want it for. How is "best" defined?

Rather than measuring quality of the college or the university evaluate each person independently. I've worked with great people from "unknown" universities and vice versa. Everybody is unique.
