* This feels incredibly out of touch, and particularly damaging to rural communities. Some small AM radio station in the middle of the Midwest might not matter to the executives of Ford or Tesla, but many people (particularly in less dense areas) depend on these stations for entertainment, weather, news, important public messages, and other big parts of their lives.
* Somehow, adding an AM radio that you can listen to for free to an electric car is too hard of a technical leap, but I'm sure they'll figure out a way to add fancy satellite subscription stuff you can pay $$$ per month to access. Yeah, right. This would make me not consider these car brands in the future.
In the heart of Cajun country Louisiana there are AM stations that still broadcast in French and play Cajun music. The range isn't that far, maybe 20 miles but I often put it on passing through to get into the Cajun vibe. Unfortunately I'm in a small bag of people who appreciate the rural flavor of AM.
