Paying our taxes could be easy but Turbo Tax profits from it being difficult, and Grover Norquist wants paying your taxes to be painful.

It's hard because it contributes to the fear factor. Imagine filing and feeling you have nothing to worry about (i.e., a random audit). I can't. The IRS is a subtle but effective tool for keeping the proles in line.

High taxes are a good thing. Keeps riffraff out of areas with strict law enforcement and HOA rules. If you don't think so then live in your own personal hell. Politicians and CEO's do not live in low tax areas. Not any harder than that. If you want the stuff you have to pay for the stuff.
