I've lived in Sydney for about a year. I couldn't really pin down what I felt was "wrong" with this country, until I read this post. This gets almost everything right about this place.
There's a lot of "yea but.." in this. I mean yea, but its not entirely true all the time everywhere. yea, but its very sydney centric. Yea, but it's still better than a shitload of other places.
There's also a lot of yea..nah -yea, a lot of jobs are make-work nah, the mass layoffs for GPT aren't coming. Yea.. there's a lot of systemic corruption in sydney planning law nah.. it's kinda not all about corruption, some of it is just different points of view of the problem surface.
I think it would have been better as a series than a mega-scream.
I liked it. I live in Brisbane, couldn't do Sydney, it does my head in. Its nice here, but I'm tempted to say its boring and low key, don't come (riffing on a "first dog on the moon" idea of telling everyone Tasmania is awful don't come)
