Microsoft Edge features a spiritual successor to this game, called Surf. I believe they did SkiFree-like mod over the winter, too :-)

Neat that MS still permits easter-egg type stuff like this. I recall the Excel flight sim quite fondly!

They couldn't let the running dinosaur in their upstream Chromium go unanswered, they'd surely get flamed.

I think easter-eggs are still okay if you get PM to put them in the product requirements document.

At least then, if someone is going to get in trouble over it, it is going to be PM for putting it in the PRD, not the developer who implements it. :)

Don't forget that the F button can make you outrun the snow-monster.

A little known fact that there was a speed up button in SkiFree.

This is really neat, but also kind of redundant due to the fact that Microsoft Edge already includes a surfing game extremely similar to SkiFree, although it replaces the Abominable Snowman with a Kraken. I still think this is pretty cool though for those who want the original experience running on newer, none 16-bit, hardware.
