As to the topic at hand, meh, Musk ran his mouth about a lot things during that interview, including a few topics that bear more reporting than this flame bait does. About the only analysis I have on his discussion of WFH is that the CEO doth protest too much, methinks. Like he's really concerned about the inequality of it all. What's that Upton Sinclar quote? Hey, if I'm WFH, I guess I don't need a Tesla to drive to work. :-)
Yes but the truly immoral part is designing cities and infrastructure such that attempting to move around them using non-polluting (and fitness enhancing!) modes of transport is unsafe or unrealistic for so many.
Well our grandparents unfortunately sold us down the river so we have to deal with the shitty hand we have, and until we undo that damage, WFH is a good harm-reduction method.
And now you're left with people who aren't good enough to be able to negotiate WFH. There are a ton of other reasons why that's not a prize-winning idea, starting with "maybe it's already been tried". It's been three years, somebody has had to have tried that. And yet I've not seen the article in Job Creator Weekly squawking about their success story.
At least 25% of me thinks this is campaigning; using for class warfare to distract & score points.
The statement confirms what a lot of upset people want to hear: that well educated white class workers are awful & entitled. It's plays to a base. It mocks & scorns.
