To be quite cold about it, it would be nice to recycle the username

Exploiting people isn't going to be nice.

Usernames on anything should be single-use to prevent abuse.

Elon did say they would free up inactive usernames, guess he figured its not a good idea

I hope not. Theres a username im looking to get that I lost the password for a long time ago.
