Hello HackerNews. I'm Alok. I love chatgpt and it makes my life so much easier. I was impressed by its power and capabilities, so being a developer, i decided to make a tool around it.
I shared my tool on this subreddit and people really liked it. Lots of people gave me feedback on what things to improve.
Many people wanted to share the chatbot with their friends and team members. Without them having to reupload all the pdfs.
So i have now add this functionality and now you can share your chatbot with your friends and team members and let them join the fun (i mean chat)!
I would love if you try it out and let me klnow what you think about it.
It is a very nice idea. Suppose at work you have a large pdf that explains some concepts you need for the sw you need to develop. Since it is a big pdf, you can't spend the time to completely read it to find the info you need. So you just ask the pdf something like - which is the formula i need to normalize my data, given inputs x and y. Then it provides an answer and you then can go into more details by asking more questions around that answer. You could also ask for pseudo code in any language.
Seems to me a much faster way of getting what you need to do the job.
The caveat is that you need to upload the document which has a big chance of containing confidential info.
And the same is going to happen for the web, or “all the world’s information”, as they used to say in Mountain View before they started focusing too much on all the information about their users?
I am a bit sceptic.
Can Google upload all the world’s information to an “AI reader” and can this reader go through all the information about everything in the world and spit back an answer in a fraction of a second?

How is this true if you use gpt4 in the background?
Also, is there sound on that video? One of my browser extensions must be blocking it. I am interested in making something similar - how did you record it?

I look forward to hearing your feedback.
Send this headline back in time five years and you would utterly bewilder people.
Are people really chatting with pdf files? In group, now? Sounds like great fun…

Where does it store that data? I assume in the USA rather than in Europe. How does it use it? How long does it retain it?
