Well, if you're a 65-year old, retiring should be on the books already, except if you tie your personal worth as a person to your job, and would be depressed and lost without it. Many (most?) people in regular jobs (not some CEO or something creative) instead get depressed by their job, not by the lack of it. Now, if you used to make 6 figures, is a no-brainer too, with all the money you should have lying around saved. When are you gonna slow down and enjoy those 6 figures, when you're dead?

That's a silly argument to make. Commutes aren't fun for anybody, and they're rarely paid for by your employer anyway. You should do something more productive with your life, no matter how old you are.
