Inspired by the upcoming reddit API changes, I built this to (ab)use the existing free-to-use API to view the latest content being posted in a minimalist infinite doom-scrolling web app.

Warning: despite filtering NSFW-tagged content by default, you'll probably see some things that aren't exactly office-friendly. User beware.

This includes NSFW content and weird things.

I sometimes forget how many different things are actually being posted to Reddit.

Posts tagged NSFW are filtered out by default, but yeah, a lot of stuff isn't really office safe.

Things are weird though. Kind-of a peek at what an unmoderated, non-algorithmic feed would look like.

Definitely already seeing illegal content (in basically any jurisdiction) being advertised. Really interesting look into how much of a moderation and legal service nightmare running this site must be.

The median reddit post is dire!

I disabled the NSFW filtering. It's safe to say the median reddit post is amateur porn. Although I think in general, much of social media sites are basically icebergs where the subsurface volume is consists of various forms of porn. Tumblr and Mastodon definitely.

I was not prepared for the number of penises I was going to see.
