I don't know if the US goated Russia into this, it also doesn't matter since it was Putins decision in the end.

However some of what this article states is just hogwash. "Third, NATO enlargement never posed a military threat to Russia". The US has placed nuclear weapons in Europe to allow a quicker aniliation of the "enemy" [1]. How can this not be interpreted as a threat? This would be like Russia having nukes stored in Cuba. I highly doubt the US would not see that as a theat to their national security.

During last 3 decades Europe got heavily demilitarized. Army in Germany became dysfunctional money sucking black hole without working equipment. Ukraine with its forces never posed a threat to Russia. And yet russians decided to invade. Looking for a job now and can tell, that defence companies are seriously hiring in Germany at the moment. Thanks to russians European NATO part will be armed to the teeth soon.
Well written article... I know the US has definitely provoked and instigated its fair share of wars. But it has honestly surprised me how conservatives have jumped on the side of Russia which was their favorite scare tactic in the past. It's incredible the power a single charismatic person can have on the psyche of a nation.
Could the US have prevented the war in Ukraine? Yes

Is the US to blame? No.

Blaming the US is the same logic that blames women for being raped because they went outside without wearing a burka.
