In such short time we are moving from 'Blake Lemoine thinks computer is conscious he is obviously completely batshit insane not fit to hold a job or to live amongst polite society' to 'of course computer is conscious why would you think it isn't?'
Have we, or is it just that the author is as delusional as Lemoine?

Here's their explanation:

Which is essentially meaningless as an explanation of consciousness.

This explanation admits no difference between a human and a zombie. Or, for that matter, a human and a Turing machine made out of legos.
I love that I say we have written an entire book about it, and yet the first three comments here are so utterly dismissive :)
