Folks my age had e-mail almost forced on them as a kid, needing to make an e-mail address to sign up for accounts or even being made to use e-mail by their school rather than consciously deciding to create an account for it’s intended purpose — communication. As a result, many of my peers never really learned how to use e-mail in it’s intended way. In this article, I detail the first part of my journey in fixing my relationship with e-mail, starting with cleaning up my primary inbox, as well as switching e-mail providers.
