This one absolutely captivated my imagination and I saw it on first release. The notable part for me was that all the technology was absolutely based in reality, and appropriate to the 24-hours-in-the-future setting. David is a kid like me, with mad tech skills and a little bit too subversive/adventurous. My favorite scene was when he hacked the office door's cipher lock with a tape recorder and some alligator clips.
Technical consultants included those from SRI and RAND. Definitely in the know about the way things were, and where they were going.
My high school attendance was impeccable, but I was not allowed to use a modem until college. :-)
