What Is Good for Company and Engineering Blogs: Medium vs. Company Website?

1 points by Sudhanshu456 ↗ HN
with numerous blogging platforms available today such as Substack, LinkedIn Articles, Medium, HackerNoon, and company-owned blog sites, I'm unsure about what works best for most people. I'm seeking advice on whether to write on Medium or have a dedicated blog page on our company website.

Your suggestions and insights are highly appreciated. Thank you!

Company Blog (domain you own). Use the others as tools or distribution channels.
Currently, I'm using the company blog and distributing content through other channels, but it's not working out. I wanted to explore how people are navigating the content world nowadays, especially for new companies that are just starting out.

It could be for different reasons. One alternative would be to submit your blog post ideas to existing publications. Then cross-post them to your own domain. Always own your content.

Also, I'd recommend dev.to and/or Hashnode instead of Medium -- both platforms have a more developer-friendly reading experience (i.e. dark mode support).
