What is a "GPU based terminal" ? Does it run directly on the GPU ?

Also in this space is WezTerm - also written in rust, also GPU accelerated. It is probably the best I've come across in my time obsessing over terminal emulators.

Yes, absolutely. iTerm was my previous daily driver. WezTerm also has the benefit of being cross-platform so my configs Just Work across windows and mac.
